Mike Pickering & Sasha 1991 @ Shine Haçienda Manchester

Another exclusive for BLOG51 for you to enjoy.  In light of the recent SHINE nights that have been happening across the country I thought I would share this.  This has been shared with a limited number of friends so far and the feedback is that is a cracking set.  It is the earliest SHINE tape that I have from the Haçienda.  I think the SHINE nights started back in May of 1991 when the Haçienda re-opened it's doors, although this is probably from later in the year.  You can tell the distinct styles of the two DJ's yet they both complimented each other for some proper party nights... enjoy.

Kindly please do not sell this set. I have the only cassette copy and have taken the time to rip it and share for free.  So should you.  If you do re-post please mention BLOG51 it makes sharing worthwhile.

First up - Friday the 20th saw part 1- DJ's Sasha and Digweed graced the decks.  This set celebrates a deadly partnership and gave us a taste of the duo who were later to take the US by storm. Greame Park 1993.04 @ Radio 1 Hot Mix with Brothers In Rhythm & Sasha

A little taster for a double pack tomorrow (Easter Sunday).  This is a hot little mix from 3 off the biggest names in clubland at the time.  Graeme Park just delivered tasty treats time after time.  Such was his influence and such was the pull of the Haçienda that he was invited to play on Radio 1 by Pete Tong.  Friday and Saturday's were essential listening back in the day, they certainly provided us with our soundtrack for the weekend, Pete played the most upfront cuts, inports and white labels - so far ahead of the game thta set the template for dance on radio  for years to come.  Graeme plays another of my favs, Eddie Flashin' Foulkes 'Turn me Out' pure class loved this in The Haçienda.  Thanks to Brady for the original share and the track list, it is a great set.

Sasha 1990.04 @ Manhatten Heights Haçienda Night

A classic Sasha set from the home of rave... What better place to locate a Haçienda night than in Blackburn. The Blackburn raves dominated the early house scene in the North in the late 80's and from the tracklist below you can see why House was so popular here 'back in the day' . To hold a hacienda night In Blackburn was a perfect marriage.

Mike Pickering & Sasha 1992.04 @ Shine Haçienda Manchester

The first of my mixes from Sasha from a Friday night @ Shine in April 1992 playing with Mike Pickering.  Sasha is well documented to have been influenced by the Haçienda and especially Mike Pickering and Graeme Park, which inspired him to go for it himself.
