The week before the birthday party and the Haçienda would be buzzing, who was going? where were tickets going spare, who was playing? along with those acting too cool to go but you knew they would be there... wtf!! too cool, what was that attitude about? Life's way too short for that shit! It was about the party not the attitude..... Where was I? This is the first tape of a double pack from the night. Pure uplifting vocal house and garage from the day - the perfect build up to the birthday celebrations to put us in the mood.
Parky used to label his sets as Tape X, Tape Y etc, and fortunately both will be on here in celebration of the Haçienda.. enjoy

Do you remember the screens at the side of the dance floor, avant-garde images, pop bites and porn?... I guess they had to make indie nights interesting... soon went when the house nights kicked in!! Sneakily though, I did enjoy watching them from the balcony with a can of red stripe!!

Graeme Park 1993.03 @ Haçienda, Manchester
'Superb' to quote Mr Parky himself.... A tasty mix of older house and vocal slabs from '93. A recently acquired set that sets a standard for this year, dominated by vocal house and garage. Haçienda nights at their finest.

Jon Da Silva 1989.11 @ Haçienda Manchester
Wednesday night madness, the start to our weekend. I loved Wednesday nights at this time, less edgy than the weekend with the same faces everyweek more or less. It was our night irrespective of whether or not there was work or college next day. Super friendly, shared moments and spectacular atmosphere. To top it off I still have two real close friends from those nights.... dancing until 2.00 and back to Levenshulme to carry on all night - Good times. This is the earliest Jon Da Silva Haçienda set that I have... enjoy.

Graeme Park 1988 @ Kula Shaker, Haçienda, Manchester
An early set from the Haçienda during the first summer of love. Raw Chicago classics and Acid house at it's best. Classic after classic that would have been first in a queue to hear if they did a Haçienda re-union night of this ilk! HINT HINT! Who would miss a night where you could hear Parky, or Pickering playing 'Phuture Pfantasy Club' 'Inner City', 'Armando' Laurent X- Machines' along side Voodoo Ray by A Guy called Gerald?' You can sense the atmosphere in the set and instantly tell why the Hacienda was ahead of the game... a classic Haçienda moment.... enjoy
Possibly this image is by Ian Tilton... Whoever took it - it is the Haçienda in a nutshell!

Mike Pickering & Sasha 1991 @ Shine Haçienda Manchester
Another exclusive for BLOG51 for you to enjoy. In light of the recent SHINE nights that have been happening across the country I thought I would share this. This has been shared with a limited number of friends so far and the feedback is that is a cracking set. It is the earliest SHINE tape that I have from the Haçienda. I think the SHINE nights started back in May of 1991 when the Haçienda re-opened it's doors, although this is probably from later in the year. You can tell the distinct styles of the two DJ's yet they both complimented each other for some proper party nights... enjoy.
Kindly please do not sell this set. I have the only cassette copy and have taken the time to rip it and share for free. So should you. If you do re-post please mention BLOG51 it makes sharing worthwhile.

HOME OF HOUSE
I am proud to introduce to BLOG51 a new music forum. HomeOfHouse. HOH is a forum dedicated to bringing you the best in House and Dance from it's roots way back in the glory dayz of Disco through to the pioneers of H.O.U.S.E and the DJ's that make us move on todays floors. If you are a fan of the DJ sets in BLOG51 then you will find something to grab you in here. We are a friendly bunch and want like minded clubbers, ravers and Househeadz to join us for discussion, sharing music and generally enjoying all that is good about our scene... extra's included!
Our site is about participation, to access the full site you will need to join in the discussions and be willing to share.... Our Mods are fair and friendly (I think!) but we don't want leechers and people there to grab and sell, we take time to rip, upload and share our music often at a personal financial cost... fairs fair!! So drop by, say hello, introduce yourself and take time to read the rules and join in... it's worth it...
David Morales 1990 @ Haçienda, Manchester
I have been away from here for far too long. Life events, trials and tribulations and the birth of my new son took me away but never that far away that the Haçienda left my thoughts... The new nipper likes the mixes too, this being one of the first he heard!!!
A special mix now for you all. I could not find a flyer for this mix, nor could I get an exact date but this mix is special. If you can shed any further light on this I would love to hear.
This mix has never been shared before. I know of one person who has a copy and this mp3 is from the original tape. Unfortunately the quality is not 100% but it is a slice of clubbing history. Remember where you saw it first. Having said that it is going to be posted in our new music forum 'HOMEOFHOUSE' after this. Stop by and say hello.
Morales was influential for many reasons and his productions, remixes dominated the Haçienda floor for much of 90 -92 and beyond. it was unfortunate that there was an altication a couple of years later as his sets truely suited that huge hedonistic space - the Haçienda - enjoy folks
If you do decide to post this on Soundcloud, Mixcloud or any forum, give BLOG51 some credit.... you know it makes sense :O)
